The Evanston residence was built at the top of a 4,800 square foot steep slope, urban lot in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. To address issues of density the design steps the housing volumes from the low, street-fronting townhomes to the main residence on the highest point of the lot. The main residence features stacked floors to maintain a compact volume while maximizing the amount of open areas for entertaining and stunning views out west to Magnolia and The Puget Sound. The house is Built Green Certified and uses energy efficient strategies at every level.
