July 7, 2025

Join the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild for all things deconstruction & salvage. Katie Kennedy will introduce deconstruction & salvage, giving us an overview of Seattle Public Utility and their process when it comes to deconstruction & salvage. Dave “Deconstruction Dave” Bennick, will present practical steps for salvaging materials from a building and how to find salvage materials that will work well in your next project. Sean Conta will share his experience as a builder buying, using, and working with reclaimed lumber on his projects. We will also explore new innovative techniques for creating panelized wall systems from salvaged materials. Learn how demolition and re-use can save resources and reduce environmental impact. Whether you’re a builder, designer, homeowner, or sustainability advocate, this session will offer practical knowledge and inspiration for your next project.
