Pacific Studio

Created as “the poor man’s passive house”, this home remodel project includes recycled materials, high performance products, renewable energy and maintained the structural integrity of the original footprint.

- R65 roof
- R35 walls
- Triple pane windows that meet passive house standard
- Toxic plastics and mold attracting fibrous materials were removed
- The exterior had its aluminum skin recycled and replaced with Resysta, a rice husk based stained siding

Woodcrafters Office/Showroom

The Woodcrafters Office/Showroom project was a complete overhaul of on existing commercial space in Ballard. The 100 year old structure had been poorly maintained and was at the end of its life expectancy, giving Woodcrafters Construction an opportunity to bring the structure down to the studs and build it back applying Built Green principals normally used in residential spaces.

- Mighty Energy Solutions Infrared Ceiling Tiles and Cove Heaters
- Panasonic ERV system
- Low flow toilets
- 240 volt EV charging station
- Low-E windows throughout the building
- Acoustical sealant at all windows, doors, penetrations, and wall edges
- Paperstone countertops for the desks and reclaimed fir countertops for the kitchen
- Raingardens receive 100% of all of the building’s storm water runoff

The owners engaged the design work of Sheri Newbold of live-work-play, and Mighty House Construction transformed common spaces into a much sought-after family space, with healthy and long-lasting solutions.

- Replaced the existing forced-air furnace with a ducted heat pump
- 100% recycled insulation
