This year has seen major attacks on public forests, including weakened environmental protections, increased logging mandates, and reduced public oversight. The timber industry claims expanded logging will address housing, wildfire risk, and local economies. Madeline Cowen of Cascadia Wildlands will highlight how grassroots efforts (through legal action, field observation, and advocacy) continue to be essential to challenge destructive logging practices and policies.
