Low-Carbon Concrete (Education Session on 4/23/2025)

We’re happy to announce that we’ve partnered with South Seattle College to host this event.

The production and use of concrete contributes to about 7% of global carbon emissions. This is largely due to the carbon emissions in the production of Portland Cement. This session will be focusing on currently available practical options to significantly reduce or eliminate the use of Portland Cement in concrete.  We will particularly focus on how to scale up options that greatly reduce carbon emissions. This meeting will also include a tour of the recent 3d printing of low carbon concrete & the equipment used for it, by the Cement & Mason’s Union Apprentice program at SSCC.
